Hey there, cat lovers! 🐾
As Thanksgiving approaches, we're all getting ready for a day filled with gratitude, family, and of course, lots of delicious food. But, let’s not forget our furry family members during this festive season. Today, we're talking about what's safe (and not so safe) to feed your kitty from your Thanksgiving table.
Turkey: A Big Yes, But...
Turkey is a big part of Thanksgiving, and the good news is, it's safe for your cat! However, make sure it's plain and cooked. Avoid giving your cat the skin or any seasoned pieces. And remember, no bones! They can be a choking hazard and harm your kitty’s digestive tract.

Veggies: Go Green, But Carefully
Many vegetables are safe for cats, like carrots and green beans. Just make sure they’re plain and cooked without any added butter, garlic, or spices. But beware of onions, garlic, and chives – they're toxic to cats!
Cranberry Sauce: Sweet but Not for Kitties
While cranberries themselves aren't harmful, cranberry sauce often contains a lot of sugar and other additives that aren't great for your cat. It’s best to keep this dish to yourself.
Stuffing: A No-Go Zone
Stuffing is a Thanksgiving staple, but it often contains ingredients like onions, garlic, and other spices that are harmful to cats. Best to keep this off their plate.
Desserts: Keep It Away
Most Thanksgiving desserts are too rich for our feline friends. Chocolate, raisins, and xylitol (found in sugar-free desserts) are particularly dangerous for cats.
Fresh Water: Always a Yes
Amidst all the Thanksgiving hustle, ensure your cat has constant access to fresh water. It’s essential for their health and well-being.
Remember, while it's tempting to share our festive meals with our pets, moderation is key. Too much human food can lead to upset stomachs or worse for our feline friends. When in doubt, stick to their regular diet.
